And We're Off

We left for our fabulous vacation in the Turks and Caicos islands on June 23rd. We were all so excited and a little nervous. Okay, so I was the nervous one. I don't enjoy flying too much. Plus, it was Tyler's first flight and I wasn't sure how he would handle it. For that reason, we took an extra long layover in Miami and spent the night at the Hilton.

I had no idea how hard it is to travel to a foreign country with a toddler. I packed so much for him and was praying that there would be enough diapers. The airport is a major PITA! Try explaining to a 22 month old why he can't carry his blanket through security. Getting all of his stuff on the plane was such a chore. The cart we had for the carseat had to come off 3 times that day!

Here I am trying to act like flying in a giant aircraft that I have no control over is totally normal and (gulp) fun.

One for the scrapbook or what could potentially be the last picture taken of us.

The flight was so smooth and 'The Boy' slept for the first hour and a half. He was pretty good for the rest of the flight as well. He watched a lot of Elmo and Thomas the Train that day.

Not even off the ground yet.

We arrived at 11:30 pm Miami time and were in our room by 1 am. Nice hotel for one night. Kind of old but it did the job. There's no way that it could compete with the paradise that was to come.
