Random Samplings of August

'The Littles' had a blast at Jake's birthday party at Sensory Time.  'The Boy' was so excited to play with Luka.

 

He wore his new Angry Birds backpack for days before school started.

 

We went to see 'Brave'.  Don't you just love how little 'Munchkin' looks in her theater seat?

 

'Munchkin' tried out her cousin, Little Ricky's, bouncer.

Our back to school countdown.

 

'The Boy' started playing soccer.

 

 

His soccer parade.  They are 'The Nijas'.

'Mister' got dressed up.

I made a beautiful new fall wreath at a Pinterest party.

'The Hubs' started our kitchen remodel!  First step: painting the cabinets.

Holding hands in the store.  I had to take a picture.  You never know when this will happen again.

We had a special back to school dinner for 'The Boy'.  He was stoked on his crown.

'Munchkin' got her first pair of pink sparkly BOBs.

We had a pizza making night.

Saw our new favorite family movie.

Soccer field tantrum.

'The Boy' kicked the soccer ball for the first time.

I love seeing his work hanging up in the classroom.

 

I painted a chalkboard wall in what will someday be a homework center.

I had a few days that required this at the end of the night.

And those same days required takeout.  Thank goodness for Panera Bread drive-thru.

I love helping out in 'The Boy's' classroom.

'Munchkin' had a pajama morning which she was thrilled about.  She is very sad that summer break is over.

At Six Months

Mister,
   
    You are half of a year old!

     You are such a big boy!  19 1/2 pounds!  We call you 'Chunk' or 'Chunky Monkey' quite often.  We can help it...chubby babies are adorable.  You are a very good eater- still drinking soy formula four times a day.  You eat rice cereal and all sorts of fruit and veggies.  You love them all!

   You get up at night but only once and you fall back to sleep very quickly with a bottle. Your crib is still in Mommy and Daddy's room but we think it might be time to move you out soon.  You are a light sleeper and any noise we make bugs you.  You started waking us up with your signature wake up call- banging you bottle on you crib.

You have started to get very curious about the world around you.  I love watching you take everything in.  I just know that your little head is saying "how do i grab that and put it in my mouth". 

We started taking you to the gym and you love it there.  Miss Mable is your favorite babysitter by far.  You love snuggling with her and playing in the exersaucer.

We cannot believe how fast the first half of your firs year has gone.  You grow so much every day and soon you won't be our baby any more but we will never forget these sweet moments with you.  You are our little monkey and we love you so!

First Day of Kindergarten

'The Boy' is officially a kindergartner! 

He has been waiting for this day for a whole year because many of his friends are a grade ahead of him.  I have never seen him so happy for anything as he was for this day.  Of course, I was a little sad that my baby was starting this milestone but equally as excited to have summer break done and over with.

We were so lucky to have 'The Hubs"' home that day.  He had a business trip back east that was cancelled.

His new classroom.  It's so much more grown up than his Pre-K class was.

He was not even the least bit nervous and didn't even look our way when it was time for us to go.

When I picked him up later that morning, he told me "it was the very best day ever!"  I didn't tell him, but I cried just a little bit on the way home after we dropped him off.  He is growing up so fast and I am so excited for his new adventure.
