Vegas: Red Rock

Ahhh...the majesty that is Red Rock Canyon.  'The Hubs' and I had been going to Vegas for years before discovering this beautiful site.  And we should thank 'The Boy' for it.  You see, before he was born, Vegas was just party, party, sleep, party, party.  When we started making our favorite place a family spot, we had to find some different forms of entertainment.  Enter the best ten bucks we have ever spent...

We could not have asked for a better day.  It was drizzling a bit and the weather was perfectly in the low 70's.  The trails were pretty empty and 'The Littles' were so well behaved.  They enjoyed every second of it.  That helps.  There are many trails to hike and someday we'll come back just the two of us and conquer a more difficult one.  We drove along the path and stopped at every pull out to snap a pic.  Then we found some picnic benches to enjoy our lunch at.

Nothin' like this view for lunch.

After we ate, we drove to the Children's Discovery Trail to take 'The Littles' on a hike.  It was perfect.  'The Boy' hiked the whole way and never asked to be picked up.  And it was not a short or flat hike.  My only regret was forgetting the baby carrier but, we managed.

He took a time out to dance on his "stage".

'The Boy' took a little souvenir home.  Totally illegal, we know.  Don't tell.

After our hike, we took the kids to the movies to see Rio.  Sooo cute.  I think I liked it more than they did.  Then we finished of the night with dinner at Serendipity 3 which, turns out to not be so kid friendly.  Who knew?

Sharing a frozen hot chocolate.  It was super yummy.

Playing peek-a-boo.

I loved this day.  It was absolutely my favorite day of the vacation and may be my favorite day of any vacation.  I love that Vegas has so much to offer.  I even love this side of it much better than the good old party, party.
