Random Samplings of July

July brought us some beautiful days.

We enjoyed many a lunch on the patio.

'The Boy' had fun at the denitst's.

We spent a (chilly) Fourth of July at the sports park.

We spent some time lounging poolside.

I made sure 'The Boy' had an educational summer.

A Journey

A colleague of 'The Hubs' had some extra tickets to the opening night of Journey's summer tour.  We jumped on it.  While neither of us knew more than the few popular songs, we thought it would be a fun night out.  Plus, we had never been to a concert together.

On the drive there, I asked who was opening for Journey.  'The Hubs' had no clue so I looked it up.  That was when I got super excited.  The opening act was Pat Benatar!  I love her music!  I used to sing 'Heartbreaker' into a hairbrush while dancing in my room when I was younger.

She was absolutley amazing.  I sang along to every song and danced in the aisles. 

 

It was the best.  Her encore was Ring of Fire and she did not disappoint. It was one of the greatest moments of my life. 

And Journey wasn't bad either.

Such a fun night!  Thank you, baby!

At Five Months

'Mister',
    
  Time is just flying around here and I can hardly remember what it was like to have you growing inside of me.  Your little personality has grown so much and you have found your niche in our family. 

   You have gotten so big (17 lbs. 1oz.) and you still don't sleep through the night.  But you started on solids so we are hoping that helps.

     

Eating your first bite of rice cereal.

You are just the most joyful little boy.  You have so much that could make you miserable (severe eczema, acid reflux) but you keep smiling through each day.

You finally hold your own bottle.  I felt like I lost a bit of your baby-ness when this happened.  You are growing up so fast.

Still smiling!  You love playing in the jumperoo.

You rarely sleep in my arms anymore but I enjoy the times you do.

 

I wish that I could keep you a baby forever but I so enjoy watching you grow.  I love that no matter how big you get (even when you are a big man) you will always be my baby.

Happy Birthday, Gigi!

All Gigi wanted for her birthday was to spend the day with the fam at the beach.  So, even though the weather wasn't the best beach weather, that's what we did.  We all met at our favorite beach in the OC, Salt Creek. 

 

We finidhed off the day with a beautiful drive down PCH and dinner at El Torito Grill.  Happy birthday, Gigi!

Summer Swimming

 I signed 'The Boy' and 'Munchkin' up for a month of swimming lessons for the summer.  I thought they would love it.  One out of two ain't bad, I guess.  'Munchkin' adored Miss Cassie and, while she probablly didn't learn much of anything, enjoyed her time in the water.

 'The Boy' was a different story.  He was into it for the first couple of days (thankfully, one of those days was when I took pictures) and then he hated it.  I mean kicking and screaming hated it.  I'll never know why.  He just told me "I don't like swimming lessons".  And since learning to swim is a must do, he is at his old swim school and loves it.  Beats me.

Palm Springs

 For the past two years, we have taken a family trip to Palm Springs with 'The Hubs' family.  There are a lot of us and it is wonderful that we are all able to be there and enoy family time.  We spent hours by the pool, enjoyed big family dinners, and stayed up late chatting and palying celebrity.  So much fun!  We can't wait until next year.
