I can remember being in my early 20's and just dreading the day this would happen. I would complain to my friends, "I'm not married, I don't have any kids, and I'm going to be THIIIIRTEEEEE!" They thought I was nuts because 30 was 9 years and a lifetime away.
The day has arrived and here I am, happy and confident. Softening the blow is the fact that 1) I am married and totally in love with the Hubs, 2) I have a child, 3) I love my career, and 4) I have no regrets in my life. The leap from my 20's to my 30's was more of a hop. I can hardly tell a difference aside from the gift gravity gave my backside.
I had a wonderful birthday celebration with the fam. Celebrating with everyone turned my one day of birth into 3 weeks of paaartay! First up, the aforementioned "surprise" party with my step-mom and her fam. Then, for the actual day, my husband whisked me away to fabulous Las Vegas (our first trip without the boy). When we got back from Vegas, we had dinner and gifts at Rodrigo's with my Mom and Steve (I got WICKED tickets!). Lastly we are having a BBQ next week with my Mom, Steve, brother and cousins from Arizona.
I feel so positive about this transition and am looking forward to this decade. I hope I feel this upbeat in ten years. 30 and fabulous, question mark? Just 30 and fab, thank you very much!
